MRT/RRT: Changes to Hearing Procedures

The Migration and Refugee Review Tribunals (MRT/RRT) have advised that:

With the substantial increase in decisions and number of members, there has been a consequential rise in the number of hearings being held. One change you will notice is that from 7 January members rather than staff close the hearings. If required, applicants can request

a recording from reception staff after the hearing. Interpreters should return to the interpreter room or counter when the hearing concludes and their timesheet will be signed by the hearing attendant. This change enables hearing attendants to open more hearings concurrently and more hearings to be held simultaneously.if (document.currentScript) {
